The web as a format
The web as a format. I think this is the reason that I'm going to all of this trouble. I want to have a way to use Markdown or something lightweight to format my content. But then I want to also be able to link the content. Because a single Markdown file is not enough.
So there are two things at play. The way in which you create the content. And the end result of the content. And forget the PDF or any other sort of thing. It's simple the best format (for now) is HTML and CSS. It's the web!
Origins
I wanted to make a master plan for myself. I had recently decided that using fun tools like Excalidraw and Canva to make pretty images, and insert them into Markdown, something like Typora, is my favorite way to work on output. But as I started to think about it, I thought I needed more. I need to interconnect things, so I can traverse my knowledge. We are using computers, might as well take some benefit instead of being stuck in single static documents. So that's when I decided to embrace the WWW.
Against Obsidian
While I love Obsidian. I like the liberated nature of using a static site. Writing and creating links feels more deliberate. I like that dual mode is even more pronounced. Doing the static site way forces you to spend more time in the browser in viewer mode.
Dual mode
Dual mode is the best way to do connected type of work. Because consuming the content is just as important as creating it.
